Smokeless Firepit Usage and Safety Tips: Enjoy Your Fire Safely and Efficiently
Our Smokeless firepits are the perfect solution for enjoying a clean, smoke-free fire with minimal hassle. Once your fire is burning steadily, there are a few key usage and safety tips to follow. From handling the firepit to maintaining a consistent flame, here’s everything you need to know.
1. Heat Diffuser:
Our Smokeless firepits are equipped with a double diffuser, which helps distribute the heat evenly so the surface beneath your firepit stays protected. This design feature makes our firepits safe to use on most outdoor surfaces (we’ve burned them on Nguni hides before!) without the worry of damage. It is, however, important to allow the initial few minutes of smoke to dissipate before positioning the firepit under any ceilings, roofs, or structures. This prevents smoke buildup so you and your people stay comfy and unbothered.
2. Transporting and Moving Your Firepit
Once your fire is burning and generating heat, the firepit gets really hot, making it unsafe to move with bare hands. To move your Smokeless firepit, we recommend using our stainless steel poles, which are designed to be placed under the rim of the unit. These poles allow you to safely lift and carry the firepit to your desired location, even while it's in use. Simply hold the poles from each end and carefully move your firepit.
3. Stoking the Fire: Keep the Flame Alive
For a steady, smokeless burn, it’s essential to keep the fire going with a steady supply of wood. If you notice the fire dying down or producing smoke, it may be due to a lack of fuel. Add more logs as needed to maintain an even flame and keep the firepit burning efficiently.
4. Safety Tips for Using Your Smokeless Firepit
Safety is always a priority when dealing with fire and open flames. Here are some important safety tips to ensure a safe and enjoyable firepit experience:
-
Avoid Overhead Obstructions: It’s important not to burn your Smokeless unit under thatched roofing or other easily flammable overhead structures. Always ensure your firepit has plenty of space above it for airflow and to prevent heat buildup.
-
Avoid Direct Contact with the Firepit: Although the fire is contained within the unit, the Smokeless firepit gets extremely hot during use. Never touch the firepit with bare hands while it’s in use. Always use appropriate tools, such as the stainless steel poles, to move or adjust the firepit. Allow the unit to cool down completely before handling it after use.

Maintain Safe Distance: Make sure children, pets and adults who’ve had one too many beers are supervised while the firepit is in use.
